About Anna.

Anna was born and raised in the Qualla Community and is the third generation of her family to live on their family farm. She attended North Carolina State University and brings more than 30 years of experience in construction finance. Her commitment to public service includes serving on the EBCI Governing Board of Audit and Ethics and the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians Planning Board. Her lifelong roots in Western North Carolina have given her a deep understanding of both the strength of close-knit communities and the challenges facing rural families.

Outside of her professional and community service, Anna helps organize local roadside cleanups, volunteers on her church’s finance and event committees, and enjoys traveling with her husband to visit their son, who is attending graduate school.

If elected, Anna’s goal is simple: to be your voice in North Carolina government. She believes Western North Carolina is strongest when neighbors work together, help one another, and focus on what unites their communities rather than what divides them.

Anna will prioritize the needs of children, access to healthcare, support for seniors, and a strong local economy. She also believes rural communities must have a strong voice in Raleigh to ensure they receive their fair share of state resources and are never overlooked simply because of where they are located.

Issues.

Anna will continue carrying the voices, concerns, and priorities of her community with her to Raleigh. Among the issues she believes most directly affect local families are:

Balancing the Budget: Anna will work to ensure the General Assembly fulfills its responsibility to pass a balanced state budget. She supports safeguards that prevent budget impasses from disrupting essential services or being used as a political tool.

Medicaid Funding: Anna will fight to ensure Medicaid is adequately funded and that North Carolinians continue to have access to essential healthcare services. She will remain especially focused on protecting rural communities, where reductions in funding can have an outsized impact on access to care.

Education: Anna will continue advocating for stronger investment in North Carolina’s public schools, students, and educators. She will prioritize competitive teacher pay and work to ensure every child has access to a high-quality education.
